GOO
The installation Goo was sited at the plaza of Uris Hall at Columbia University and served as a temporary pavilion. The Goo is a buoyant, white, and sizable structure located on the elevated plaza at the southeast corner of Uris Hall. It is envisaged the design is to represent the motion of fluid flowing downwards from the top, the Goo embodies a carefree and whimsical essence, injecting
a sense of joy and lightheartedness into its surroundings. Its playful nature serves as a delightful distraction from the constraints of reality. By integrating solar panels on its upper surface, the Goo is able to harness solar energy during daylight hours, enabling individuals to charge their electronic devices. Additionally, the structure offers a designated seating area where people can gather and socialize. Its purpose is to create an engaging and interactive installation sourced from students, to provide joy and amusement.
